  • The Discover Dogs tickets donated to the club by the Kennel Club were won by Tanis and her daughter. We hope they had a really good day at the show.

It was also my first time at Discover Dogs and it was an interesting experience. It is much smaller than Crufts but you could get round the whole show in a day, if you simply wanted to look at the stalls, breed booths and the displays put on by the KC. If you wanted to watch the competitions then it would probably need a second visit the day after. None the less it was for me a really good day out.

I think it is the type of show which would appeal to many more of our club members.

While I was there I met Anthony Head, who played the King in Merlin and the Libarian in Buffy the Vampire Slyer. He definitely is a dog lover.

While there I was discovered taking a picture of the Companion Dog Club class pictured above by Gwynne who last year was a winner at the show with Toddy. Could we have another Companion Dog from WDTC be a contestant next year?

The overall winner of the Scuffts title this year was a greyhound Staffordshire cross called Milo, pictured above with the judges Anna Webb & Jo Good presenters of a radio show called Barking at the Moon on BBC Radio London, and Anthony Head. Anna and Jo have asked if I would like to do a piece on there Radio programme about the eye testing Ana and I run every year and about the facebook group we have set up called BVA/KC/ISDS Canine Health Testing Dates.

Talking of Facebook that reminds me to mention that we do have a facebook page for the club and I hope all members will try to look it up as it might be a feature of our Christmas quiz this year!

Finally a reminder that the club Christmas Quiz is to be held on the 7th December.
